The Form Module
The Form module explores the application of the universal dynamic of integrity (sarvangabandha) to the Vinyasanixisya Training series of classical and modified postures. In doing so it reveals the simplicity of the yoga method, and the funtional and structural keys to alignment and integrity. This module of the Intermediate Course builds the ground covered in Fondation Course which must have been completed in full.
The Form Course can fruitfully be repeated any number of times; not only because its exact presentation is determined by the students participating in it and is therefore different each time, but also because repetition is the essence of learning. The postures of the vinyasanixisya series used are those best suited to clarify and apply the internal dynamic of the yoga method. The particular Vinyasanixisya postures used, and their specific sequencing and modification, depends on the capacity and condition of the students present.
All morning classes include guided pranayama and meditation practice. In the occasional instance that the postures being used are unhelpful to any student, individualised instruction is given. All our yoga retreat classes are given within the fertilising context of patanjali’s ashtanga yoga, and link yoga postures together into a vinyasa flow of dynamic yoga practice ending with stillness in savasana and sitting, thereby balancing the 'yin' and 'yang' elements of traditional hatha yoga. All morning classes include guided pranayama and meditation.
