The Dynamic Module

The yogaclasses in this course are suitable for any yoga student, even absolute beginners. This module repeats the ground covered in the Method module in the first two sessions, and can therefore also be taken first. It focusses especially on the integrating impact of the spiral dynamic. This unifies the dynamic of structural integrity, through the mechanism of opposition. Its use simplifies the yoga method, by creating a unifying lense of action and awareness. The classes are based on the Dynamic Yoga Vinyasaxakrasya Training Series. Its yoga techniques are accessible to everyone, and awaken the motor mucles connecting the joints so they can be integrated into a single functional unity.

The Dynamic Module may be a good place to start for those looking for a more intuitive approach to yoga alignment than the accumulation of linear detail. It can fruitfully be repeated any number of times; not only because its exact presentation is determined by the students participating in it and is therefore different each time, but also because repetition is the essence of learning.

All morning yoga classes include pranayama and meditation practice with guidance. It is very unusual for the simple sequences used to pose any unhelpful difficulties for individual students, even those with flexibility and strength limitations. All our yoga retreat classes are given within the fertilising context of patanjali’s ashtanga yoga, and link yoga postures together into a vinyasa flow of dynamic yoga practice ending with stillness in savasana and sitting, thereby balancing the 'yin' and 'yang' elements of traditional hatha yoga. All morning classes include guided pranayama and meditation.
